Dr. Uyen Nguyen

Dr. Uyen Nguyen completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Ottawa in 2008 and her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 2012. She did her ocular disease rotation in Texas at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, which allowed her to work alongside ophthalmologists to care for patients with severe ocular diseases and observe surgical procedures first-hand.

In 2010, Dr. Nguyen joined VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) to provide free eye exams and dispense donated glasses to people with little to no eye care previously. Dr. Nguyen always strives to provide excellent patient-centered care by taking the time to educate her patients and actively listen to their needs and concerns. She is fluent in both English and Vietnamese and can speak basic French. She is a member of the BC Doctors of Optometry and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.

Dr. Nguyen lives in North Vancouver with her husband, two boys and St. Bernard. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking and swimming.
