Our Optometrists
Dr. Peter Wu Feng Ji
Dr. Ji grew up in Richmond, BC. His journey toward becoming an optometrist was inspired by his own 13-year experience in myopia management as a patient. Dr. Ji earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia before completing his degree at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received the Berkeley Innovation Award and graduated with honors as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Vivian Yeung, OD
Dr. Yeung grew up in Vancouver, beautiful British Columbia. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of
British Columbia, and immediately after, she moved to Forest Grove, Oregon; where she pursued her Doctorate degree at Pacific University, College of Optometry, and graduated with honours (a member of Beta Sigma Kappa).

Dr. Maria Wang was born in Taiwan and moved to Costa Rica at a very young age. She spent 10 years in Costa Rica before moving to Vancouver, Canada, which is her permanent home now. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2003 with a degree in Microbiology and Immunology, and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 2007.

Dr. Alison She, OD
Dr. Alison She was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of California, Berkeley. During her training, Dr. She completed rotations in binocular vision, primary care, and low vision.
Dr.Avneet Atwal, OD

Dr. Atwal was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia. She received her BSc in Biology with distinction from the University of Victoria and then earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston. She was honoured with several Letters of Clinical Excellence and served in multiple leadership roles including being the liaison for the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Dr. Charlene Chu, OD
Dr. Charlene Chu was born in Taiwan, grew up in Vancouver and is bilingual in English and Mandarin. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Microbiology and Immunology, at the University of British Columbia in 2002. In 2006, Dr. Chu obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from State University of New York, College of Optometry in United States.
Dr. Atif Parvaiz, OD
Dr. Atif Parvaiz is a dedicated and experienced optometrist committed to delivering exceptional eye care to patients of all ages. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009. Fully board certified in both British Columbia and Ontario, Dr. Parvaiz brings a strong clinical background, advanced diagnostic skills, and a patient-centered approach to every examination.

Dr. Kelvin Cheung, OD
Dr. Cheung was born and raised in the Lower Mainland. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Microbiology & Immunology at the University of British Columbia and his Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University in Oregon. He completed his externships at the Central California Veterans Affairs Hospital in Fresno and private practices in Bellevue, Washington and Southern Oregon. Dr. Cheung is experienced in managing patients with dry eye disease and he also has an interest in specialty contact lens fitting.

Dr. Uyen Nguyen, OD
Dr. Uyen Nguyen was born in Vietnam and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Ottawa and her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. Dr. Nguyen did her ocular disease rotation in Texas at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, which allowed her to work alongside ophthalmologists and care for patients with severe ocular diseases and observe surgical procedures first-hand.
Dr. Indy Gill, OD
Dr. Indy Gill was born and raised in Surrey, BC. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology at the University of British Columbia. She then pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. She gained invaluable experience during her clinical rotations where she worked in various settings throughout Washington and Oregon.
Dr. Clarissa Ngui, OD
Dr. Clarissa Ngui was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia, she moved all the way east to Boston, Massachusetts where she attended optometry school at the New England College of Optometry. Her clinical training includes experience at the Veteran Affairs hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, as well as several community health centers in the Greater Boston area.
Dr. Elisa Xiao, OD
Born in Beijing and grew up in Vancouver, Dr. Elisa Xiao completed her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology. She went on to pursue a Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honours.
